Rise of the Satellite Man

On Saturday, I visited James Barnett of East London. The brain behind the makemeaoffer blog. James has finished his degree in Performance: Design and Practise and has created the most absurd and pointy of costumes ever to be seen on a London rooftop. This is only natural seeing as James is the most outrageous homosexual I know and I was honoured when he asked me to photograph him. I will wait until James has fully unveiled the costume on his blog before I spoil it here.

I Miss Japan #001

I really miss Japan. I'm looking back through photos I took in and around Tokyo last year and uploading a few of those that didn't make it first time round.

#001 - Super Potato (スーパーポテト), Akihabara, Tokyo
Akihabara is known as the Electric Town (it even says that on the underground signs). Super Potato is a multi-storey retro video games store that sells stacks and stacks of old games. A treasure trove for any video game fan. See the little speakers in the open window? They were blasting out awesome retro chiptunes for all the passing Otaku below to hear.

UAMOU HAS LANDED (Pearl Black Blue Eyes)

Uamou comes from another planet. Or Japan. Crafted by Ayako Takagi, Uamou takes vinyl form in many different colours and usually one shape. This is the first Uamou to join my toy army and I hope it isn't the last.

Rainbone

This is my 'doggy doodle' for Jellybox's fundraiser for Many Tears Animal Rescue. My character is 'Rainbone', a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that loves rainbow flavoured bones. More information about the fundraiser can be found here.

Character Brainstorm

I know what these are now. They are brainstorms for weird and wonderful characters that I wouldn't be able to channel through my pigment-ink pen otherwise. I spent a bit more time on this one, so it deserves a little more explanation. Also, having text here breaks the page up a little more with all the doodles on this blog at the moment. The Japanese Katakana on the right reads "super", in case you were wondering. Pretty pleased with this but I think I need to move on to something different now.

I'm posting this because I don't know what else to do with it

Evolved from a doodle in my sketchbook one lunchtime. Inspired by snow. Snow is fun, until it gets annoying.

JamFactory Droplet Series 2 Launch

Series two of the wonderful Droplet toys, designed by JamFactory and produced by Crazy Label, are to launch February 6th at Fifty Fifty in Bristol. I for one am rather excited, this will be the second toy event I will be attending (I went to the KR grand opening a couple of months back) and this time I will actually have the chance to talk to likeminded toy fans, rather than just stand in a queue with them. If you're interested, click here for more information.
